What is CARE?
Carbondale Assembly for Radical Equity (CARE) is a broad coalition of activists, organizers, and community members who live and work in the greater Carbondale, Illinois area.
CARE facilitates mutual aid projects and helps community members build relationships with each other—all with the goal of empowering individuals and creating positive change in southern Illinois.
CARE participants have differing backgrounds, approaches, and opinions, but the common goal is to care for each other, support and empower individuals, and work together to resist fascism and other forms of oppression. CARE envisions Carbondale as a resilient and welcoming refuge for all.
